US Government under cyber attack

It has been reported on BBC that a widespread computer attack has hit several US government agencies including US Treasury Department, Secret Service, Federal Trade Commission and Transportation Department.

The attached reportedly started on July 4th but US officials have not released details of the attack.

Eat your heart out MS. Google to launch new OS for PC

News has been floating around that google is developing a new OS for PC which will put it in direct competition with Microsoft.

According to big boy google, the new OS will initally be targeted towards netbooks & low cost personal computers. Google said netbooks new OS could be on sale by the middle of 2010.

"Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS," said the company in a blog
 
Time to ditch Virgin media & move to another ISP ?

As if bandwidth throttling and joining force with PHORM was not enough, Virgin media has now joined forces with Channel 4 and BSkyB in a bid to help the government tackle internet piracy

According to reports by PCADVISOR website, " Chief executives from the three companies, along with those from record labels and movie distribution firms, are advising communications minister Lord Stephen Carter and the Digital Britain Report Steering Board on the best methods to tackle the problem of illegal file sharers.

When you are creating a website the use of subdomains is most generally frowned upon. This is because first of all they simply do not look quite right, they require a prefix name and they are very often overlooked by the search engines. Let’s learn some more about subdomains.

Subdomains are often used as a substitute or a second tier of a normal domain. While a regular domain will look something like www.123website.com a sub domain will often look like http://xyz.123website.com as you can plainly see the difference between the two is that a subdomain does not start with “www”....
