Job cuts at Google. Recession is hitting hard!

It has been announced that there will be up to 40 job cuts at Google after they decided not to pursue further its radio advertising business.

In her blog, product management VP Susan Wojcicki said, "We have decided to exit the broadcast radio business and focus our effort on online streaming audio,".

"We have always accepted that if you take risks, not all of them will pay off,".

Google Audio Ads and Google Radio Automation was starting in 2006 with the aim of extending its internet advertising revenue success.

It shows that, no one can escape from recession even it is google or yahoo. but 40 is very small, some companies are cutting out 1000s of staffs.

Job cuts are not only limited to Google.it is a global phenomenon and millions across the world are loosing sleep in this time of global economic recession.

even google is suffering, that is when you know things are bad. I actually experienced it first hand. I was a recruiter working with google anf my contract was cancelled two months ago, I talk about it at length in my career blog

I fear that it is going to get worse before it gets better. I also believe that one day google will not be the overall powerhouse that it is today. This is nothing for them.

Hopefully things clear up over the next couple of years.
