UK government: Welcome Open Source, Out Microsoft

According to UK digital engagement minister Tom Watson MP, UK government will accelerate the use of open source software in public service. According to him UK government will rollout open source software where they can provide best value for money. He has also encouraged general public not to get "locked into proprietary software" and always explorer open source software as they are generally free and case save users lot of money. Getting excited by this news, Open source community was quick to mention that in the days of rising UK government debt, the move can save the government around £600m a year ( Mr Darling will be happy with this news as well ).
